2007 Meeting Summary
Our
February 14th meeting was held at the Jefferson Labs.
During the meeting portion, and after a wonderful breakfast,
Pledge of Allegiance, and Safety nugget by Bert Manzlak, our President
Colleen Becker discussed the agenda items.
Each individual introduced him or herself and stated their duties
and where they were employed.
Colleen mentioned
the upcoming Tidewater Chapter ASSE 2nd Annual
“Safety-Tee” Golf outing scheduled for May 9th, 2007.
The Tidewater ASSE meeting will be held on Feb 15th,
2007, 11:30am, at Uptown Buffet, Norfolk, VA.
Our Section
Treasurer, Donna Abbott discussed up upcoming conference on Mar 1st
sponsored by the Tidewater Physical Therapy Association.
Dave Mazary
discussed the upcoming safety conference that will be held in Roanoke,
Va. More information will
be forthcoming on this issue.
Our guest speaker,
Annetta Norwood, Public Educator for the York County Fire & Life
Safety Division, gave an excellent presentation on the Safety Town and
developing Emergency Preparedness Plans.
She explained how her organization is educating the children
concerning Bike Safety, Germ Safety, Fire Safety, Home Safety,
Electrical Safety, and various other safety disciplines.
She also explained other training that they are providing such as
the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and BERT (Business
Emergency Response Team).
Our next meeting
will be March 14, 2007 at Jefferson Labs.
All members are invited and guests are always welcome.
